The ‘Camau Bach' DVD has been devised especially for Welsh babies and pre-school children, which makes it a unique product. The young viewer will have the opportunity to enjoy appealing and interesting imagery as well as listening to traditional and popular Nursery Rhymes through the medium of Welsh.

As well as being entertained we hope that the young viewer will also be educated – the images and objects on the DVD are grouped into 7 themes that are a familiar part of a young child's world e.g toys, friends, colours. Through these 7 themes we hope that the young viewer will make connections that will create a sense of order to their experiences of the world.

The ‘Geiriau Cyntaf' (First Words) chapter is also an opportunity to educate young children, as words are heard and written as subtitles to accompany the images. Our aim is not to teach children to read as such, but to familiarize them with the written word and different ways of expressing. This will of course also widen their vocabulary, which makes this chapter useful for parents and children whose first language is not Welsh, as well as those who are fluent speakers.
